Bargain Beauty: Who Knew The Dollar Tree Had Such Good Makeup?!?!

Image
It's a given that everything here was $1 each.  L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Palette I am beyond happy with this!! I love that it gives you a bunch of different shades of pink to play with. (Hence the name Playful perhaps!) haha. As you can see, I've tried out the bottom 3 shades, I LOVE THEM. They are very pigmented. I don't know how they do it for the price. The packaging isn't anything special and it gets stuck if you close the plastic top all the way, so I guess that's where they're saving their money lol. I notice the most popular beauty brands (Benefit, Too Faced) that are super pretty and make you wanna get them have the prettiest packaging. So looking at just the bones of the product, these shadows are really nice. I wanted some good pinks for spring. Pink is also a good color to bring out the green in hazel eyes :) and looks pretty on brown eyes too! My eyes are hazel-brown. When I wear black mascara and liner, my eyes look brown so I wanted to flatter them wi...

Tone Correcting Powder - $3 This powder is meant to correct coloring issues with your skin. The green cancels out redness, pink brightens, yellow cancels out purple if you have a bruise or something, blue is meant for canceling out any orangeyness. You're supposed to swirl your brush all around each color and glide it over your foundation as a last step. It's very mattifying and is a good finishing powder. I love the colors as I'm crazy about pastels :) I'm not sure it does what it's meant to since your foundation is already covering the imperfections in coloring issues, but I got the "I really want a color correcting palette!!!" out of my system for only a few bucks. Physicians Formula makes a similar product for $12.75. I'm glad this was so cheap! e.l.f. Complexion Brush - $3 I was looking for a big, fluffy powder brush for a long time. My old one has a scratchy feeling when I put it on my face, it actually kinda hurts my skin because the brush isn...

What Happened When I Went 2+ Weeks Without Makeup

It's been driving me crazy lately how random people online feel free to tell me that I wear too much makeup. STOP there. Why don't I tell them that they have too many tattoos? Or too much facial hair? "Your beard is outta control, seriously just cut it."  I don't tell anyone how they should look or if I have a problem with how they look, it's just that-- MY problem and not something I need to tell them to change to make me happy. Yet, guys (so far, never girls) have told me I should wear less makeup, or not wear makeup at all. Men of the world: if you like women, hey even just have any respect for self-expression at all, let your personal opinion on makeup not be made known. I didn't ask you? You don't tell me. Simple. However, a couple of years ago at work, I basically stopped caring what I looked like. I had been at the job for almost three years and had given up. I reached burnout and wanted to quit. They had been scheduling me on the morning shift ...
